Apologies for the lack of blogging this week, I am away in Alabama. I have not been entirely disconnected from astronomy though. I have noted the reorientation of the stars, thusly commenting to all around me that this proves the Earth is round. I have been reading up on Native American Astronomy, specifically the astronomy of the Creek people. I’ll blog about this in a few days after my trip to an archaeological site. Finally I have had my first flying lesson. Just for those who know me well, here is a sight that may scare you more than a little!

I am studying for my PhD in Astronomy at Cardiff University in the UK. Star formation is my main area of research but really I like anything to do with space, science and the internet.

Thanks Tailspin, I think flying is great fun. If only I could afford to learn properly! Maybe one day…
