Night Sky Note for March 27, 2008

Posted on 27 March 2008 · 340 views · 61 words.

Tonight: The waning gibbous Moon passes about 1° south of the star Antares. For observers far in the Earth”s southern hemisphere, the Moon occults the star. Look for the Moon and Antares in the predawn sky, low in the south.

I am studying for my PhD in Astronomy at Cardiff University in the UK. Star formation is my main area of research but really I like anything to do with space, science and the internet.
