British Isles at Night

Wow! Another astonishing image from the ISS – this time we get to see the British Isles (The UK, Ireland and Channel Islands) at night.

This photo, taken from on board the ISS and placed onto the amazing magisstra Flickr feed, is worth taking a good look at if you live somewhere on the image. I had a great time finding the bright dot that is my home town and noticing how the main roads and motoways can be inferred from the positions of towns all along their routes. For example, the M40 is quite clearly visisble when you go hunting for it.
